Hi Babes! Ya’ll went a little cray over my homemade taco seasoning from yesterdays post! That’s right, rather than buy the awful premade full of junk seasoning from the store, I stock my cabinets with plenty of spices & flavors! You might be surprised to find you already have most of these ingredients at home! When I first began to look into taco seasoning recipes, I myself couldn’t believe that the whole time, I already owned all the seasonings I would need to make it. I of course, got my recipe from another blogger, it’s linked below. I change my seasoning up a little each time I make it, depending on my mood. You’ll also notice that I’ve removed the dried oregano, I don’t even like it. The beauty of this, is you can literally make it YOUR OWN! Sometimes I want it to be a little spicy-er than other times! Below is the recipe that I use, I do not mix these in any special order. I literally measure out the ingredient, dump it in a bowl, mix with a spoon, and add it to the ground beef. Now, of course you will also need water! I usually use about 1 cup of water per pound of beef & seasoning mix, if you use a little extra, just let it cook off! Now below, when I say things like “add extra” or ” I tend to add a little extra”, it’s just extra, there is no measurement, let your fingers decide and alter it the next time if it comes out awful. HAHAHAHA
8 Ingredient DIY Taco Seasoning
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin — This is where that taco smell comes from, add extra!
1 teaspoon garlic powder — I need extra, love garlic!
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder — EXTRA
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper – I tend to add a little extra here too!
ENJOY! Head back to my original IG post here and tell me how your seasoning came out!
